About Clear AI Label & Editorial Standards
Empowering Photographers, Creators & Publishers with Transparent In-Browser Metadata Utilities
Clear AI Label (https://clearailabel.com) is an independent software engineering initiative and technical publication dedicated to digital media provenance, container metadata standards (C2PA, XMP, EXIF, IPTC), and creator privacy.
Our Mission & Why We Built Clear AI Label
Between 2024 and 2026, major social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube) rolled out automated header-scanning pipelines to detect AI-generated media. Because these systems rely on binary container assertions—specifically signed ISO/IEC 19566-5 JUMBF (C2PA) manifests and Adobe XMP DigitalSourceType tags—authentic creators frequently suffer from false-positive labeling:
- Commercial & Wedding Photographers: Using Adobe Lightroom AI Denoise on a noisy indoor RAW photo or removing a background distraction in Photoshop embeds a C2PA/XMP assertion that causes social platforms to label the entire real photograph as "Made with AI".
- E-Commerce & Marketplace Sellers: Cleaning product backgrounds or exporting mockups from Canva, Photoroom, or Adobe Express leaves software metadata and header bloat that triggers marketplace flags and slows down storefront loading speeds.
- Privacy-Conscious Creators: Sharing original camera files via cloud links, marketplaces, or messaging apps exposes exact residential GPS coordinates and device serial numbers.
Our Engineering Architecture: 100% Client-Side Execution
Lossless Byte-Level Parsers
Our JavaScript engine parses JPEG APP1/APP11/APP13 segments, PNG tEXt/iTXt/caBX chunks, and binary Little-Endian TIFF headers directly in browser memory—stripping provenance claims without recompressing image pixels.
Camera EXIF Preservation
Our AI-Only Mode and binary TIFF builder allow photographers to strip false-positive AI edit tags while preserving authentic camera hardware EXIF (Make, Model, Lens, ISO, Exposure).
Editorial Policy & Fact-Checking Standards (E-E-A-T)
Clear AI Label maintains an open-access library of 175+ technical guides and specifications. Every article published on our platform is tested against real file exports (JPEG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, PDF, MP4) using hexadecimal inspection and verified against official specifications from the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA), the International Press Telecommunications Council (IPTC), and ISO/IEC 19566-5.
